Export Market Access: A Global Expansion Program (EMA) is designed to assist small to medium size organizations (SMEs) to access and expand their growth in foreign markets that are beyond the U.S. Export Market Access is an initiative of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC), with support and funding from the Government of Ontario and the Government of Canada.

EMA Objectives

To help SMEs seek out, access and expand in new global markets, beyond the US and increase export sales in Ontario goods and services.

EMA Eligible Applicant Requirements

     Annual sales of $500,000 or more

     Have 5 to 500 employees

     Registered company (federally or provincially) for minimum of two years

     In full compliance with all government laws and regulations

     Cannot be in receipt of public funds towards activities contained in the funding application other than from support provided through export development programs offered by the International Trade Branch of the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

EMA Program Overview

     Eligible costs are shared 50/50 between OCC and applicant

     Non repayable grant

     Maximum grant is $30,000

     Two approved applications per year

     Eligible activities are: direct contacts, marketing tools, market research and foreign bidding projects.
