Shine the spotlight on success in
The OCC together with the Ministry of Economic Development and trade put together the Ontario Global Trader Awards (OGTA). This is where we award businesses for innovation and export expansion. I was just wondering if you had any companies in mind you would like to nominate. Below please find is a brief intro to the program. To Nominate a company please click here for the nomination form. So you know, the deadline for nominations are June 1st.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade partnered with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce to recognize
and successful exporters. The OGTA award recognizes Ontario SMEs (small to medium-sized, private-sector, for-profit enterprises) that meet
the following criteria:
- Annual sales of less than $100 million;
- A maximum of 200 employees;
- In business in
Ontario for at least three fiscal years; - Currently exporting to one or more countries; and,
- Exports sales that are at least 15 per cent of total sales.
Awards Categories
HSBC Award for Innovation – Exports
Highlights three businesses that are able to change the application of an existing or new technology to develop a new product/service or makes
improvements to existing products or services that lead to growth in exports and job creation. Receiving this award shows your business is a
leader in research & development, technology & infrastructure and product/service development & design.
Export Development
Spotlights three SMEs who exemplify the pioneering spirit of
to their already existing markets. The successful nominees will be able to demonstrate a significant increase in export sales and job creation as a
result of entering the new market and/or have overcome difficult obstacles in order to establish the business within the new market.
